Markosie Sowdluapik

Markosie Sowdluapik was born in 1933 in Nunatak, an outpost camp near Pangnirtung. His testimony includes information about dog sickness and evacuation to Pangnirtung. He managed to keep two dogs after the sickness. Markoosie does not know why the move was initiated. He remembers that upon arrival in the community, he was worried that his children would freeze to death because they did not have proper housing.
