Sytukie Joamie’s birth date and birthplace are unknown. He was relocated to Apex at a very young age and considers it to be his home community. His testimony includes information about the unknown graves of medical evacuees, including his own father’s grave, which was unmarked for many years until it was located in Riverside Cemetery in Toronto. He testifies that there remain many unmarked graves in southern Canadian cities that the Government of Canada has not helped the Inuit to locate. Sytukie is critical of the RCMP Executive Summary, which he believes paints a picture of dog maulings as a regular occurrence. Sytukie argues this was not the case. Sytukie is not yet prepared to forgive the RCMP for the dog slaughters.
